2009 August - BOLIVIA - Spirituality and Democracy

Majestic mountains, pounds of potatoes, and thoughtful theological discussions were just a small portion of the many things a group of people who traveled to Bolivia with CRLN experienced in August 2009.  Within the framework of a partnership between CRLN, the Northern Illinios Conference of the United Methodist Church and the Evangelical Methodist Church in Bolivia, CRLN's Gary Cozette lead a group of ten people mainly from the Chicago area to spend several days in Bolivia.  The group participated in a theological conference on Christian and indigenous spiritualities organized by the Instituto Superior Ecumenico de Teologia, an ecumenical theological training center, visited congregations of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Bolivia, and learned about the current social and political issues in the country.
