Bridges to Community Youth Encounter

$100 per participant ($60 with scholarship)

Itinerary will include some or all of the following:
v Service learning with day laborers and other immigrant workers
v Arts and activism workshop with undocumented students
v Hearing stories from young leaders at the forefront of the new civil rights era for immigrants
v Learning about how you can make a difference for one of the greatest civil rights struggles of our time.
v Potential visit with an immigrant seeking sanctuary against deportation.
v Hearing how faith communities are providing leadership as Immigrant Welcoming Congregations and organizers.
Institute for Cultural Affairs at 4750 N. Sheridan Rd. in Chicago has offered us dormitory-style overnight accomodations. The fees and arrangements are covered by your registration.
Fee: $100 per participant ($60 with scholarship). Space is limited. Each local church shall provide 1 adult for every 5 participants. Please ask your local congregation if funds are available to offset your personal cost. This payment provides for overnight stay and food (lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday) along with all programming.
