The TPP is back and rearing its ugly head. You’ve probably seen in the headlines lately all sorts of political posturing (typical of election seasons) toward the TPP. Regardless of what they say to the press, organizers are bracing for members of Congress to bring the TPP to a vote during the lame duck session… unless we make sure our Representatives are opposed!

Take 3 minutes to call your Representative to either thank them for opposing the TPP or urge them to say NO to this corporate-crafted trade deal! (‘Thank you’ messages help immensely to ensure your Rep won’t flip after Election Day!)

  1. Click here to look up who your member of Congress is.

  2. Take a look at the scorecard below to find out your member’s stance on the TPP.

  3. Call their office and use whichever of the following scripts applies to your member of Congress:

THANK YOU! My name is ______, member of the Chicago Religious Leadership Network from Rep. _______’s district. I’m calling to thank Rep. _________ for their continued opposition to the Trans Pacific Partnership or TPP. I’m deeply opposed to the TPP and will happily be sharing the news with my neighbors that Rep. ______ is opposed as well. Please pass my thank you to Rep. ______.

JUST SAY NO! My name is ______, member of the Chicago Religious Leadership Network from Rep. _______’s district. I’m calling to urge Rep. _________ to oppose the Trans Pacific Partnership or TPP. I’m deeply opposed to the TPP, a trade agreement crafted almost entirely by & for corporations and their interests. We can’t have another free trade agreement ravaging our economy and putting people in the global south at even greater risk of exploitation. Please pass my request to Rep. ______ and thank you in advance.

Even if it’s after hours, call to leave a message!

Feel free to report your call to Celeste, CRLN’s Public Policy Coordinator by emailing her at clarkin@crln.org to let her know how it went or get in touch to find out how to get more involved in this work as the lame duck session nears.
